Event Page Templates

Overview

Event pages are the public-facing signup and information pages participants see when joining a race. Each event page combines your custom content (hero text, descriptions, images) with dynamic elements (participant count, signup form, route preview).

For the dashboard tool used to manage event pages, see Eventpage Dashboard.

Editing Your Event Page

To edit your event page:

  1. Go to your race dashboard
  2. Navigate to the Eventpage section
  3. Use the WYSIWYG editor to modify your page content
  4. Preview your changes before publishing

Racery provides default event page templates as a starting point. You can customize the content while keeping the dynamic elements (signup form, participant count) intact.

WYSIWYG Editor

The editor supports standard rich text operations:

  • Text formatting: Bold, italic, headings, lists, links
  • Images: Upload and insert images directly into your page
  • Layout: Add sections, dividers, and spacing
  • HTML source: Switch to source view for direct HTML editing if needed
Tip: Always preview your event page on both desktop and mobile before publishing. Use browser DevTools to simulate a 375px viewport.

Dynamic Data

Event pages automatically include dynamic elements that update in real time:

  • Participant count: Current number of registered participants
  • Team count: Number of teams (if teams are enabled)
  • Signup form: Registration form for new participants
  • Route preview: Map image of the virtual route
  • Amount raised: Fundraising total (if fundraising is enabled)

Best Practices

  • Keep hero text short. One title line, one date line, one tagline. Participants should see the signup form without scrolling.
  • Include the signup form twice. Once near the top and once near the bottom. Reduces friction for participants who scroll the full page.
  • Test with real data. Preview the page with actual participant counts and route images before launch to catch layout issues.
  • Optimize images. Compress banner and gallery images before upload. Use JPEG for photos, PNG for logos/badges with transparency.
  • Match branding. Use your organization's colors and logo for a consistent look that increases trust and registration rates.
